Our consultants have played a critical, long-term role in the design, delivery, and expansion of mission-critical radio communications at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)—one of the world’s busiest and most operationally complex aviation hubs. Providing Transaction Advisory, Oversight & Governance, Network Design, Systems Integration, and Testing and Commissioning services to deliver communications infrastructure that is fundamental to safe, and continuous airport operations.

Engaged by Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK), our team supported the implementation of a Trunk Mobile Radio platform and other proprietary radio systems, delivering resilient, airport-wide coverage across passenger terminals, runways, cargo and maintenance precincts, transport interchanges, tunnels, and extensive underground environments.

To meet HKIA’s stringent performance and availability requirements, a cost-effective hybrid communications architecture, integrating a fibre-optic backbone transmission system with cascaded bi-directional amplifiers and distributed antenna systems was used. Our consultants undertook detailed technical analysis to ensure optimise performance across the complex indoor, outdoor, and below-ground environments ensure these systems met demanding public-safety performance, security, resilience, and scalability requirements.

The resulting communications capability underpins safe, efficient, and coordinated airport operations, strengthening emergency response and enabling real-time collaboration across all airport stakeholders.
